CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION-BASIC LIFE SUPPORT and AED (CPR BLS & AED)

Course duration: 3-HOURS

The American Heart Association (AHA) Heartsaver CPR/BLS/AED Certificate is a crucial requirement for healthcare professionals, encompassing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). CPR is administered to individuals who are unresponsive, not breathing, or exhibiting abnormal (agonal) breathing, aiming to restore oxygenated blood flow to the brain and organs.

HeartSaver BLS/AED CERTIFICATION

The HeartSaver BLS/AED certification course aims to equip participants with the skills to save lives in cases of cardiac arrest through high-quality CPR. Designed by the AHA, the BLS Course teaches healthcare professionals how to perform effective CPR either independently or as part of a team, applicable in any healthcare setting. Participants learn rescue techniques for adults, children, and infants, receiving a course completion certificate valid for two years upon successful completion.

EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES

Upon successful completion of the course, students should:

  • Grasp the significance of delivering high-quality CPR and its impact on increasing survival rates.
  • Comprehend the steps outlined in the Chains of Survival and apply the principles of BLS effectively.
  • Recognize indicators signaling the need for CPR intervention.
  • Execute high-quality CPR techniques tailored to adults, children, and infants.
  • Appreciate the importance of AEDs and proficiently demonstrate their usage.
  • Provide efficient ventilation using appropriate barrier devices.
  • Acknowledge the significance of teamwork in multi-rescuer resuscitation scenarios and effectively collaborate as part of a team.
  • Understand and apply techniques for relieving choking or foreign body obstructions in individuals of varying age groups, including adults, children, and infants.

AHA CPR BLS-INITIAL and RENEWAL

Differentiating between Initial Certification and renewal, the main distinction lies in the individual’s level of experience. BLS certification renewal is typically pursued by those who have previously undergone training and still hold a valid BLS card. Initial certifications, on the other hand, are usually sought by individuals who have never been certified before or whose certification has expired after a specified period (usually two years).

Certification costs start at $80 for new CPR/BLS certifications and $65 for renewals. For group training for staff or organizations, inquiries and potential discounts can be obtained by emailing [email protected] or call 856-431-4811.

Redcross CPR BLS Certification and Re-Certification

The difference between American Red Cross certification and recertification involves their purpose and duration. Certification is for those who have never been certified and provides comprehensive instruction covering all required skills and knowledge. It is typically longer because it covers foundational materials. Recertification, on the other hand, is for those previously certified. It focuses on refreshing and updating existing knowledge and skills, and is generally shorter since it assumes prior knowledge and experience. Both ensure individuals meet current standards and practices. For group training for staff or organizations, inquiries, potential discounts and course fee, email [email protected] or call 856-431-4811.
